OKLAHOMA CITY (February 6th, 2024) – Today WPSL PRO announced the addition of Georgia Impact as its latest club to submit an official Letter of Intent (LOI) to join the league ahead of its scheduled 2025 launch.
“This is a big moment for our league to add a club with the profile of Georgia Impact to our project” Sean Jones, WPSL PRO president, said.
“Our goal has always been to expand access points for players to advance to the highest levels of the sport [and] Georgia Impact’s ability to provide this new level of soccer to its top youth players while igniting the extremely untapped potential of the Atlanta women’s soccer community, and the overall soccer market there is something we’re really excited for.”
Georgia Impact’s addition to the WPSL PRO lineup comes as the first club to join the competition with a fully integrated “youth to pro” pipeline and a sizable 4,000-member youth enrollment across all of its teams and programs. The Impact’s addition signals the potential for WPSL PRO to grow soccer at the community-based professional levels and to provide players in communities throughout the U.S. with a platform to help them reach their highest potential.

Georgia is a hotbed for female soccer and it was our goal to be able to offer these talented players a chance to play at the professional level and earn a living from the sport.”
The addition of the Atlanta-Metro-based organization brings the total number of clubs who have submitted LOIs to join WPSL PRO to six and enables the league to meet the threshold for the minimum number of teams to achieve sanctioning as a professional women’s third-division league.
“We’re excited to have Georgia Impact join our ranks as we get 2024 underway and move to begin our due diligence with U.S. Soccer on sanctioning for our 2025 launch,” Benno Nagel, WPSL PRO project director, said.
