WINDSOR, Colo. (January 8, 2025) – Northern Colorado Rain FC is thrilled to announce today the club has submitted a Letter of Intent to join WPSL PRO for the league’s second season in 2026.

It will be the club’s first venture into the professional ranks of women’s soccer.

“Our ownership always had a dream of bringing a women’s professional team to Northern Colorado,” Rain head coach Kelly Brown said. “They see an opportunity to support and promote women’s sports at the highest level and I know the members of the Rain, our coaching staff, and the fans are so appreciative that they have.”

Rain becomes the 14th club to submit a Letter of Intent for WPSL PRO, which kicks off in 2025. A dozen of those clubs plan to play in the league’s inaugural season, with Rain joining Dakota Fusion FC as new members for 2026.

“We’re excited to add Northern Colorado Rain FC to WPSL PRO and continue to grow our westward expansion as we continue to build out a national footprint,” WPSL PRO project manager Benno Nagel said.

Rain will be a part of the WPSL’s pre-professional league for the 2025 season and plan to maintain a presence there along with joining the WPSL PRO ranks in 2026.
